Join Sunny the cheerful Cloud and Rainy the playful Droplet as they introduce young readers to different types of weather, from sunny days and wind to rain, thunder, snow, and rainbows. This book explains basic weather phenomena and encourages preparedness.
Hello! This is Sunny the cheerful Cloud and Rainy the playful Droplet. They work together to make all kinds of weather!
First, the Sun shines brightly. It is a Sunny day, and the air is Hot and warm. This is a perfect day for playing outside and wearing a light shirt.
Suddenly, a strong Wind starts to blow! The wind is the movement of air. It makes the flags wave quickly and the leaves dance off the trees.
The sun gets shy, and more clouds cover the sky. The sky turns Grey. When there are many clouds, the light becomes softer, and the air cools down.
Rainy the Droplet and his friends start falling from the clouds! It is Rainy! Rain is important because it gives water to the plants and fills up the rivers.
When it rains, we must put on our Raincoats and colorful Boots. We use an Umbrella to keep the raindrops from making us wet!
During a big storm, we hear a loud BOOM! This is Thunder! We also see a bright flash of light called Lightning. Lightning is very fast!
When the air gets very, very Cold, the water freezes and falls as soft, white Snow instead of rain! Snow is light and fluffy and great for playing in.
After the rain stops and the Sun comes out again, we might see a Rainbow! A rainbow is an arc of colors across the sky. It is magical!
The weather changes all the time! One day it is sunny and hot, and the next day it might be cold and rainy. We must dress appropriately for the weather.
Sunny and Rainy teach us to be prepared. If the sun is hot, wear a hat. If the clouds are dark, grab a coat!
Sunny and Rainy love making all kinds of weather. What is your favorite weather to play in?
