Story Details

Dewdrop was no ordinary tiny droplet. Oh no! While other dew drops rolled smoothly like marbles on a slick leaf, Dewdrop loved to BOUNCE! He’d jiggle, then spring, then *BOING!* He’d leap high into the air, much to the alarm of his calmer, rounder neighbors.

“Dewdrop, stop bouncing!” chirped a sleepy spider from a silken thread. “You’ll fall!”

But Dewdrop just giggled, bouncing higher. *BOING!* He bounced so hard he sailed right over the edge of a big, green leaf. Down, down, down he tumbled, a shimmering speck against the morning sky.

He landed with a tiny *splat* on a dry, cracked patch of earth. Right next to him lay a tiny, shriveled seed. The seed looked so thirsty, so sad. Dewdrop felt a little wobble in his own round self. His usual happy bounce felt a bit… lonely.

Then he saw another leaf, even bigger and greener! *What fun!* thought Dewdrop. He wriggled, then sprang, then *BOING!* He leaped from the leaf. Down, down, down he tumbled again!Create a children's story illustration in origami style, the material is like handmade laminated paper, warm tones, detailed, shimmering.

This time, he landed with a slightly bigger *kerplunk* near the same thirsty seed. The seed looked even thirstier, its little shell almost whispering for water. Dewdrop felt a bigger wobble inside. His bouncy fun wasn't quite as fun with a sad seed nearby.

“Just one more bounce!” Dewdrop decided, determined to make it to the biggest, juiciest leaf he’d ever seen. He took a deep breath, wiggled his watery edges, then *BOIIING!* He launched himself with all his might! He flew through the air, sparkling like a tiny jewel.

He missed the leaf completely! Down, down, down he tumbled for the third time, landing with a rather large *SPLASH!* right on top of the parched, waiting seed. The seed drank him up, gulping Dewdrop’s bouncy goodness. A tiny crack appeared in the seed’s dry skin. A small, green shoot began to push its way out.

Dewdrop, now inside the seed, felt a warm, happy tingle. His bouncing had helped! He smiled a watery smile, realizing that sometimes, even a super bouncy droplet could do something important.
