Barnaby the teacup, so round and so grand, Loved spills and thrills, across the whole land. He’d giggle and swirl when milk tumbled free, A watery river, for all eyes to see.
But next to him sat, a jar tall and red, With jam hiding secrets, inside its glass head. Barnaby asked, with a shiver and shake, “Oh, sweet jammy friend, what secrets you make?”
No jiggle, no wobble, no word from the jam, Just sticky silence, a very stern sham. Barnaby frowned, his handle grew hot, “A Jam-pocalypse now! This cannot be sought!”
First, he bounced lightly, with a clink and a clang, “Speak up, Mr. Jam! Let your fruity voice bang!” But the jam stayed quiet, a deep, crimson pool, Barnaby grumbled, feeling quite cruel.
Next, he spun quickly, a whirlwind so fast, “These secrets you keep, are meant not to last!” But the jam just shimmered, so bright and so still, Barnaby pouted, against his own will.
Then came a whisper, from a sugar cube small, “Oh, Barnaby dear, don’t trip and don’t fall. The jam has a riddle, of stickiness true, It’s playful and sly, yes, it’s waiting for you.”
Barnaby paused, then he thought with a grin, “Is it sticky, and sweet, and wants to stay in?”
The jam gave a jiggle, a small happy dance, Its secrets were silly, a sweet, fruity chance! Barnaby cheered, his adventure was done, No more Jam-pocalypse, just laughter and fun!
