Story Details

Hello! This is Bi. Today, his dad brought home a very large, empty cardboard box. To most people, it is just a box. But to Bi, it is a Magic Spaceship! Bi grabs his crayons and a cushion, then crawls inside.

First, Bi draws buttons on the wall. He learns about Control. He draws a big red "Start" button and a green "Turbo" button. Beep-beep! He presses the red button, and the box starts to rumble with imagination.

Next, Bi looks through a small hole. He learns about Perspective. The living room looks like a distant planet. The sofa is a giant mountain, and the rug is a soft green ocean. Bi feels very safe in his cardboard cockpit.

Now, Bi meets Commander Teddy. He learns about Teamwork. Bi puts his teddy bear in the corner. "Ready for takeoff, Teddy?" Teddy doesn't speak, but his fuzzy ears seem to say "Yes!" Together, they fly into the stars.

Suddenly, the box enters a Meteor Shower. Bi learns about Sound. Outside, he hears Tap-tap-tap! It’s just his cat, Miu Miu, hitting the box with her paws. But Bi pretends they are space rocks hitting his ship!

Next, Bi finds a Flashlight. He learns about Shadows. He shines the light on the wall of the box and makes shadow puppets. A shadow bird flies across his "ship." It looks like a real alien friend visiting from another galaxy.

Now, it is time for Space Lunch. Bi learns about Fuel. He has a juice box and a sandwich. In space, he calls them "Rocket Juice" and "Moon Bread." Everything tastes better when you are an astronaut!

Suddenly, the ship lands on Planet Pillow. Bi learns about Softness. He pushes the box over onto a pile of cushions. Thump! It is a perfect landing. Bi crawls out to explore the new, fluffy world.

Next, Bi meets the Vacuum Monster. He learns about Bravery. His mom starts cleaning nearby. Vroom-vroom! The sound is loud, but Bi hides in his box castle. He knows the box is his strong fortress.

Now, Bi decides to change his ship. He learns about Creativity. He opens the top flaps of the box. Now it’s not a spaceship anymore—it’s a Deep Sea Submarine! He starts "swimming" through the blue carpet.

The sun begins to set through the window. Bi learns about Rest. He feels sleepy after traveling to the moon and the bottom of the sea. He curls up on his cushion inside the box and closes his eyes.

Finally, Bi’s mom lifts the flap. She learns about Magic. She sees Bi sleeping and smiles. Bi realizes that he doesn't need fancy toys to have a big adventure. He just needs a box and a dream.

Bi’s cardboard adventure is finished. He tells his dad, "This box is the best car-plane-ship ever!" He realized that A big imagination can turn anything into a treasure. If you had a big box, would it be a tall castle or a fast rocket ship?
