NianNian ClassOn a special day at school, kitten NianNian gets to experience the traditional beauty of the Vietnamese ao dai. Together with little girl Linh, NianNian not only tries on the ao dai, but also learns the cultural meaning behind this outfit.

Today is “Ao Dai Day” at Linh’s school. The teacher says, “We will all wear Ao Dai and have a fashion show!” NianNian jumps up with joy. “I want to wear Ao Dai too!” she says.
Beautiful Ao Dai dresses hang neatly, all colorful and bright. There’s a pink one with flowers, a blue one with swallows. “This red one is perfect for you!”
The Ao Dai is too long for NianNian. Linh uses pins and ribbon to adjust it. Mom helps sew a few stitches to make it strong. Now NianNian has her very own Ao Dai!
NianNian stands in front of the mirror. The red Ao Dai flows gently in the breeze. “You look so elegant,” Linh smiles. NianNian grins: “Like a kitty princess!”
Kids arrive at school, all wearing Ao Dai. Some wear white, some wear yellow, some have lotus flowers. NianNian walks next to Linh, tail swinging happily. “What a lovely little cat!” the principal says.
The class lines up on stage. Vietnamese music plays — soft and joyful. Each child steps out with a flower and a smile. When it’s NianNian’s turn, she moves gracefully, like dancing.
The crowd claps loudly. “She’s so cute!” a child cheers. NianNian bows deeply, her crown sparkling. She feels truly special.
Back home, NianNian reads about the Ao Dai. She learns it’s Vietnam’s traditional dress. People wore Ao Dai for festivals, weddings, New Year… “That means I just wore a piece of history!” she says.
NianNian asks Linh, “Why does everyone love Ao Dai so much?” Linh smiles, “Because it’s beautiful and makes us feel special.” “I feel the same,” NianNian nods. “I’ll tell all my cat friends back home!”
